Kids These Days Wear Designer Clothes

Parents these days are splurging on their kids, buying them designer clothes. A study has been carried out by Sheilas' Wheels home insurance cover which says that most kids own designer clothes now and regularly even wear designer labels. More than one-third or 39% of the children surveyed, own designer clothes by the age of two. Among school going children, 62% or two thirds of them have at least one item of clothing from a top designer brand.
British parents are spending 764 pounds a year on designer clothes for their kids with 6% parents even spending 1,500 pounds. Most children have 154 items of clothing along with shoes and toys on average- all priced highly. More than half of the parents admitted to splurging on clothes their children have never worn; two-thirds admitted they the clothes they bought were only worn once by their children. More than half of parents insist on buying brand-new clothing. Most children do not like used clothes or hand-me-downs.39% parents felt it was their duty to give their children branded clothes and 36% parents felt that they were worried their child would be ill treated at school if he or she did not wear those kinds of clothes.
More than one fourth of parents surveyed acknowledged feeling guilty if they did not buy their children designer clothes following the latest fashion trends. Parents are getting inspired by the Beckhams and Cruises and buying their children designer clothes.
